Supporting Forest Ecosystems

We are committed to ensuring healthy forest ecosystems, championing responsible forest management practices, and investing in the long-term sustainability of natural capital.

As part of our 2030年愿景 目标 to build a better future for people and the planet, we are committed to leading forest stewardship efforts globally. This includes a target to conserve and restore 1 million acres (400,00 hectares) of ecologically significant forestland. 十大正规赌平台平台有关十大正规网赌游戏平台的 2030年愿景 目标.

We can achieve this through collaboration. 十大正规网赌游戏平台和供应商合作, 承包商, private landowners and other key stakeholders to advance sustainable forest management, combat illegal logging and deforestation, and support healthy working forests.

Our investments in forest restoration and sustainable forest management help increase forest carbon stocks and mitigate climate change.

世界自然基金会(WWF)

International Paper is one of the first five companies in the United States to partner with WWF on the launch of Forests Forward. This global program engages with companies and other stakeholders around the 全球 to deliver effective nature-based strategies for forests that help achieve their business and sustainability 目标.

The 国家的鱼 and 野生动物基金会 (NFWF)

该十大正规网赌游戏平台于2013年推出 Forestland Stewards Partnership between International Paper and the 国家的鱼 and 野生动物基金会 (NFWF) protects and enhances ecologically important forestlands and coastal savannas in ten southern states.

Family Forest Carbon Program

We joined American Forest Foundation (AFF) and 美国大自然保护协会 (TNC) in supporting the Family Forest Carbon Program to enhance carbon sequestration in family owned forestland across the U.S. Families own the largest portion of all forests in the country, and this program represents a new approach to climate change mitigation that taps into the carbon storage potential of family-owned forestland while creating a new market and source of income for the families that dedicate time and effort to their forest management.

美国大自然保护协会

We are collaborating with 美国大自然保护协会 on Natural Climate 解决方案, 保护, restoration and improved forest management techniques that increase carbon storage and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in managed forest landscapes. Our collaboration is supporting their Reduced-Impact Logging for Carbon (RIL-C) initiative in Gabon and Indonesia, where they are developing a set of scientific practices that balance the economic needs of forest-based communities with environmental 目标. RIL-C can reduce up to 50% of CO2 emissions in a commercial forest operation.
