Randy McRae
Senior Regional Government Relations Manager
Randy McRae serves as Senior Regional Government Relations Manager for International Paper and has been with IP since 1987. Randy’s responsibilities include IP’s public affairs activities in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi, encompassing legislative, regulatory, administrative, and local governmental affairs, as well as various internal and external communications functions. He represents IP before state legislatures on a daily basis during regular and special sessions and is deeply involved in coalition work on a variety of technical issues.
Randy has been involved in legislative affairs since 1982 having previously worked for Hammermill Paper Company and the Alabama Chamber of Commerce/ Business Council of Alabama. He also served as a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America from 1978 to 1982.
He served for two years as Chairman of the Georgia Paper and Forest Products Association, and currently serves on the boards of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Florida Pulp and Paper Association, and the Alabama Civil Justice Reform Committee. Randy was founding Chairman of the Alabama Industry and Manufacturers Association, and served on the steering committee that formed Manufacture Alabama. He has also been active in leadership positions in a number of state trade associations and issue coalitions.
Randy is a 1977 graduate of Troy State University. He resides in Montgomery and is married to the former Sandra Strickland. They have one daughter, Caitlin.
